Branding for Rugarama – an independent business selling colourful handmade rugs, cushions, and tapestries.
Owner Inez started Rugarama after a trip to Turkey, during which she fell in love with the beautiful patterned rugs she saw while visiting the local markets. Her funky, vibrant creations are a modern take on traditional Turkish designs, and each handmade product is completely unique.
Featuring a warm, vibrant colour palette and variable, psychedelic-style type, the new branding is designed to feel fresh, fun, and groovy.
The logo references Inez’s rugs through its bright colours, rectangular shape, and irregular letterforms that highlight the uniqueness of each product.
The use of colour, shape, and type (rather than pattern) to reference Inez’s creations allows engaging product photography to take centre stage.
When isolated and abstracted, the letterforms become bold, swirling graphics that speak of Rugarama’s vibrant products, while providing additional assets to reinforce the brand.
